New Survey: Executives Worry More About Cyber Threats Than Physical Threats
A survey issued by the American International Group Inc. surveying executives throughout the United States and Canada, asking them what danger they were more afraid of, a cyber security threat or a physical threat.
The results of the survey showed just how digital the world we live in is. About 85% of the executives who took part in the survey stated that they worry and fear a cyber attack more than a properly attack.
There are now insurance companies that are actually offering add-ons to company insurance that would cover the company in the event of a cyber attack. The survey blatantly shows us that we are living in a digital world that is becoming a reality more and more each day.
A survey was done with David Derigiotis, the assistant vice president at a wholesale insurance brokerage, Burns & Wilcox. Derigiotis stated that the brokers at his firm have been selling double-digit sale increases in cyber-risk coverage over the past year.
With all the cyber events appearing in the news, firms are seeing the damage that a cyber attack can result in, and this immediately pushes them to find out how they can protect themselves against such an event.
